About the role

Balfour Beatty are currently looking for a Security Manager to join our Regional - Buildings team based on multiple projects between Leamington Spa and South Birmingham

Within this role you'll be the single point of responsibility for security management protocols and processes, office and site based on a secure project, you'll also be the principle point of contact for security liaison and have management of the security vetting processes for Balfour Beatty staff and the supply chain.

What you'll be doing

As a Security Manager you'll:

  • Maintain a live data base of security cleared personnel
  • Physical security: the handling of data, movement and destruction of data, secure rooms, protocols, rules and responsibilities;
  • Electronic security: The processing and management of electronic security data, linking into IT security, procurement of related equipment (shredders, printers, plotters, encrypted PCs and laptops, suppliers etc), information security and secure use of Business Collaborator software;
  • Security infrastructure: Balfour Beatty protocols, secure rooms and offices in other buildings, information and assistance on existing infrastructure used or available, linking in to the mobilisation hub for future projects;
  • Provide guidance and support to our supply chain through the security process;
  • Bid and tender support for security management aspects;
  • Assist in placing orders with new or existing security cleared delivery partners allowing for a point of contact to assist and provide oversight when applying security clearance processes and policies;
  • Identification and escalation of security risks through appropriate channels, including core review meetings, CEMAR and risk registers

Who we're looking for

You'll have/be:

  • Possess a current government security clearance level or able to obtain security clearance
  • Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to ensure security processes and protocols are applied
  • Holds a current driving license
  • Demonstratable leadership skills with the ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems and motivate others. Delivers results consistently
  • Able to supervise and develop direct reports, prioritising and delegating appropriately and effectively.
  • Maintain a robust security culture across all levels of personnel.
  • A good understanding of GDPR principals, GSC, and application to data sensitivity.
  • Demonstrate proficiency using IT equipment and software, including company communications tools such as e mail, internet and Microsoft suite of products.
