Crynodeb
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating press machinery. To be successful in the role of Power Press Setter you may be working or have previously worked as a Tool Setter, Machine Setter or Setter/Operator on Power presses or have a strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude for operating mechanical equipment. Training can be given to the right candidate but he/she would be expected to learn quickly in order to work routinely without supervision.
Responsibilities
• Operate and monitor press machinery to produce sheet metal components.
• Set up tooling and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.
• Perform basic maths calculations for measurements and material requirements.
• Fabricate parts using hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure proper functioning.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
• ROSPA or Power Press Certification (preferably).
• Proven experience as a Press Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Experienced in Setting tooling into Power presses up to 90T capacity or able to learn.
• Set up and operate coil, strip and blank feed mechanical presses.
• Set tooling and coil feeders – completing as per engineering drawings.
• Able to load and amend machine settings and make tool changes as required to meet schedules.
• Work to ISO 9001:2015 Quality management system requirements ensuring that specifications are met in full and keeping accurate production records.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Counterbalance Forklift Licence desirable but not essential as in-house training can be provided.
£13 - £16/hour depending on experience. This is day shift working for 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a shorter shift on Friday. Free car parking, pension, 33 days paid holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays. Any overtime opportunities are paid at a premium rate.
