Full Time: 32.5 hours per week, 52 Weeks

Salary: £12.42 per hour

Location: Hereford

The role is 5 days out of 7 and includes some but not all weekends on a rota basis. A shift either starts 7.00am or midday and the latest finish is 8.00pm.



Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef/Cook Supervisor to join our culinary team in Hereford. As a Chef/Cook Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring good-quality food preparation, and leading a team of kitchen staff to deliver great dining experiences.

  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
  • Develop and implement menu items, considering seasonality, local ingredients, and customer preferences
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene in accordance with food safety regulations
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Manage inventory, place orders, and control food costs to meet budgetary goals
  • Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and ensure proper usage and cleanliness
  • Collaborate with management to improve kitchen processes and enhance overall dining experience
  • Assist in creating and implementing new recipes and culinary concepts
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen


Qualifications

  • Catering qualification from a recognised institution
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with proven supervisory experience
  • Strong culinary knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • In-depth understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with current Food Safety Certification
  • Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment effectively
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proficient in budgeting and cost control
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergens
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
