Crynodeb
• To support and deputise for the Theatre Sister or Charge Nurse/ODP to ensure the provision of excellent nursing care and the effective management of staff and other resources.
• To carry out the day-to-day management and co-ordination of a major trauma centre and tertiary trauma and orthopaedics theatres. To take charge of the unit on a regular basis and manage a cohort of staff in the department with minimal supervision.
• To lead in enabling education and training opportunities for all staff, including pre and post registration students and/or providing specialist knowledge in perioperative practice.
• We are looking for enthusiastic theatre nurse/ODP who are interested in gaining further leadership and management skills as a Band 6 Senior Theatre Staff Nurse in Paeds, Obs&Gynae theatres.
• Successful post holder will already possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working in paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology surgical specialities, both in elective and emergency services.
• You will need to be RN or Registered ODP with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in scrub at band 5/6 level in paeds, obs and gynae theatres.
• The successful applicant will be expected to support their Band 7 Team Leader through effective leadership and management of the team and the ability to prioritise and organise the day to day running of theatres.
• A positive approach which focuses on supporting and motivating others is essential as well as ability to challenge poor practices and behaviours.
• This position will require someone that is confident in their knowledge and delivery of excellence in every aspect of patient care and day to day leadership.
• They will be visible and assertive role-model for staff, patients and relatives and able demonstrate commitment to delivering a safe, high quality current evidence based practice.
