Crynodeb
The lymphoedema therapist will work as an autonomous practitioner in an outpatient setting, utilising specialist knowledge and skills to provide assessment, treatment and management for children and adults with Lymphoedema and Lipoedema. The Lymphoedema Therapist will determine clinical diagnosis of both Primary and Secondary Lymphoedema and Lipoedema and communicate this information to the patient and their wider healthcare team. They will plan lymphoedema treatment and management in conjunction with the patient and in accordance to local guidelines and implement this treatment plan together with other team members. They will be responsible for supervising junior staff and delegating work to other staff members. The lymphoedema service is a progressive service and there will be an opportunity to lead service development in line with current research evidence.
