Summary
Our client is looking for an experienced Software Development Director to lead and manage business-as-usual software team of approximately 20 people. The current focus of software development is on the delivery of high-performance desktop applications, with plans to expand into mobile and web.
Responsibilities
Accountability over the software team, including staffing, oversight, development, and delivery of software products
Provides leadership and oversight of departmental structure, recruitment, talent development, succession planning, and addressing organizational gaps and risks
Responsible for putting together a software roadmap that meets the business needs, and the ability to run a multi-dimensional software department to deliver concurrent projects
Responsible for ensuring that the software team has a clear strategy, mission, and goals
Responsible for creating an environment and culture that fosters team commitment and employee engagement
Key skills
Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization (upward, downward, and across) with the appropriate message, tone, and level of impact
Ability to Build and foster supportive partnerships with other departments to deliver on long-term roadmaps
Build a working environment where people can play to their strengths and maximize results
Extensive experience as a Software Director level working with med-large scale teams
Familiar with different types of software development methodologies (e.g. agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, etc.)
