We are a successful and innovative business with farming operations based around Dorchester in Dorset, Alresford in Hampshire and Jerez in Spain.
We grow and supply fresh Watercress to businesses situated all over the UK who supply many of the Supermarkets and restaurants in the UK and are able to
offering an exciting opportunity to join our team of Watercress growers in Dorset and Hampshire.
Our Dorset location is at Waddock, nr Moreton, Dorchester DT2 8QY; our Hampshire farms are based around Alresford, SO24 9DZ.
Job Role
General farm duties on a day-to-day basis will include watercress bed cleaning & levelling – this is a manual task using hand shovels and raking equipment
As part of a team you will assist with rolling, harvesting and topping the watercress using bespoke machinery and equipment
All watercress is harvested into crates and you will be required to lift and stack these onto trailers which are then driven to our distribution centre for cooling
You will also be required to carry out general farm maintenance using strimmers and similar equipment
Experience
Some experience in working in a horticultural/agricultural environment is required.
Working in the UK
Our business does not have a licence to sponsor any workers from outside of the UK.
Period of Work
We are looking to engage workers from Feb through to Nov 2025.
The basic working week will be 40 hours per week with 20 hrs optional across 6 days working alternate days every other weekend and to include Bank Holiday days.
Holiday entitlement is accrued and is pro-rata based on 24 days holiday per year.
Accommodation is available at a reasonable rate per weeks all bills included – note this is shared caravans/housing.
Pay rate is £12.21/hr.
Skills Required
You will be able to work as a team member and engage in a positive approach around the workplace.
You will ideally possess a valid UK driving licence
This is a labour-intensive role which requires a good level of fitness.
As you will be working outside in all weather, suitable protective clothing and footwear will be provided.
