Job Description - Support Workers - Sitting Service - No personal care, moving or handling or Medication to be administered by our Companions in this role. This role is carried out in blocks of hours. You do not need to be a driver for this role but you must be able to use Public Transport to get to our Clients throughout Ayr and possibly beyond Ayr itself.

Job Summary:

To carry out a Sitting Service in a service user’s own home. We cover the whole of East Ayrshire. This work is done in a "block" of hours normally ranging from 1-6hrs at a time. There may also be overnight calls to be completed by our staff members.

Duties:

To provide a high standard, person-centred support to clients at all times in a non-judgmental or discriminatory manner

Providing a positive and friendly approach to Clients in their own homes and respectful of their wishes at all times with a "can-do" attitude

Communicating with our clients at all levels and being able to problem-solve at times to assist them with any concerns

Ability to work on own initiative, being reliable and flexible to meet the needs of our Clients

Ensure written records maintained and updated where applicable

Interacting and communicating with the people that you support in a way that promotes dignity, choice and respect at all times

Assisting with basic meal preparation for the service users we support

Work as part of a team at all times and respectful of the service users’ homes within which you will be working

Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the clients, whilst maintaining your own health and safety in accordance with our Health and Safety Regulations

To adhere to the Regulatory bodies in Scotland governing our industry – Basic Disclosure Scotland - and to ensure that all relevant training is continued by each carer as part of this adherence, and to comply with such requests made by Healthcare Plus Recruitment Homecare Services
