About the role

As our Team Leader Accounts Payable & Procurement you’ll be instrumental in ensuring that the Council delivers value for money in its procurement of goods, services and works and creates financial savings wherever possible. You’ll manage the accounts payable function including the line management of 2 members of staff, ensuring that processes in the function continue to develop in line with the ‘Financial Services’ service plan, as well as providing strategic and operational procurement guidance and consultancy advice to all Service Units.

About you

You will need to have experience of procurement in the Public Sector, with extensive experience of developing contracts and associated procedures in consultation with stakeholders. You’ll need experience of manipulating financial and statistical data to report on procurement trends, reviewing, developing and monitoring procurement policy and strategy, developing and delivering training programmes and be able to demonstrate knowledge on best practice in procurement and promote guidance and understanding in others.
