Summary
Mahavir Foundation Ltd is a religious charity organisation operating a Jain temple in Kenton, London. The Foundation is inviting applications for a post of full time Religious worker for the temple at 557 Kenton Road, Kenton, Middlesex HA3 9RS. The right candidate must also have minimum experience of working as a religious worker/ priest or equivalent job for at least 3 years and must produce a letter of experience from the recognised religious trust/organisation or a recognised religious Guru.
The job duties involve:
• Looking after Jain temple;
• Performing daily religious rituals as per the old scriptures including Ashta-Prakari Pooja, Snatra-Pooja, Aarti, Mangal divo, Samayik and Pratikraman;
• Ability and knowledge to recite prayers in Sanskrit/ Prakrit language
• Opening and closing of the temple everyday on specified time as per the scriptures.
• Spiritual support to the congregation and members of the order;
The candidate must be fluent in Gujarati and Hindi languages. Inspiring people to recognise, learn and practise good values and non-violence would be considered as an additional advantage.
