Maintenance assistant role immediately available undertaking planned and preventative maintenance tasks and day to day upkeep of the site for a school in the Nidderdale area.

This role is initially available on a temporary basis but may lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.

The role:

Ensuring the general upkeep of the site and dealing with day to day issues as they arise
Opening up, locking up of the building
Undertaking planned buildings and ground maintenance
Undertaking security checks, fire alarm testing, maintaining emergency lighting
To undertake any care taking or porter services required
To help set up furniture, rooms and equipment for meetings and events
Undertake minor repairs, decoration and general upkeep
Installation of fixtures and fittings, clearing of drains, gullies, guttering
Ensuring work in carried out in accordance with strict health and safety guidelines
Carrying out routine checks and maintaining appropriate records

You will:

Come from a care taking / maintenance background
Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service
Be able to undertake basic plumbing, joinery, decoration, and general maintenance and repairs
Have worked in a building maintenance, handy person or school caretaker capacity previously
Be well presented and personable
Be organised and able to work to set daily job targets
Have a full clean driving licence
Have experience of working to PPM schedules
Have basic computer skills and be able to fill out maintenance reports
