Founded in 1997 by a group of engineers, GRUPOTEC has evolved and grown into a large multidisciplinary and international engineering and architecture company, becoming a leader in the photovoltaic energy sector.
Today, we have over 2,000mW built across our various photovoltaic projects, located in 17 countries (such as Chile, Trinidad and Tobago, Italy, the UK, Italy, etc.).
We are currently looking for a Construction Project Manager (CPM) to join one of our 34mW photovoltaic projects in the Coventry-Birmingham area (United Kingdom).
The main duties of this role will include:
• Taking full responsibility for the execution of the assigned works.
• Ensuring proper design review prior to the execution phase of projects.
• Maintaining good and close relationships with the client and suppliers during the construction phase of the project.
• Reviewing the definition of objectives based on client requests.
• Approving the procurement of materials and subcontractors, considering technical-economic optimization.
• Managing and directing teams and subcontractors, assigning personnel resources to construction works.
• Ensuring that the projects respect the budget, deadlines, quality, and safety standards.
• Drafting and implementing specific procedures.
• Monitoring the progress of the works, supplies, quality checks, and resolving organizational and technical issues during construction.
• Supporting and supervising the work of the Site Managers, providing decision-making support.
• Complying with responsibilities assigned in the various management system documents (Quality, HSE, Environmental Management) of the organization.
• Reporting to the Construction Department Head.
• Representing the company before the client, public authorities, and official bodies when required.
What requirements will we value or should the candidate meet?
• Preferably, a degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering (technical or higher).
• Experience performing the previously described duties in renewable energy projects (solar, wind, combined cycles, thermosolar, etc.).
• Training in HSE for fieldwork.
• Previous experience in managing construction projects and teams.
• Proficient in office software tools (Microsoft Office package).
• Intermediate-advanced level of English.
• Driving licence, category B.
