Summary

Senior Research Officer 

Location: post holder must have a right to work in one of the following locations: UK, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone

 Role Type: Permanent, Full-time, 35 hours per week

We are recruiting for a Senior Research Officer. The role will be part of the Public Research team, responsible for delivering high quality research, and supporting work to enhance impact data across Education Development Trust.

The postholder will:

ensure that the investment fund portfolio supports the organisation’s educational, charitable and commercial objectives

ensure that EDT’s investment fund research portfolio is delivered to a high standard and effectively disseminated

contribute towards business development for new contract research work and help deliver this where relevant.

You will have:

An excellent practical understanding of research and evaluation methodologies

A Masters in one of the following areas: Education, Social Research Methods, International Development. Though we will accept applicants with equivalent experience

Knowledge of Microsoft products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Extensive experience in data analysis and management of qualitative and quantitative data

Experience in designing and delivering research projects

Practical knowledge and understanding of education policy and/or practice

Strong problem-solving skills

Excellent written ability

Ability to perform well under pressure and to tight deadlines

Interview details: there will be a task prior to interviews, with the interview consisting of a short presentation (based on part of the task), followed by Q&A about the presentation. There will then be a 30-40 minute long competency-based interview, with the potential for second interviews to take place.
