About You and This Role

This role is part of Dow’s Process Analytical Team - a global team with members at all major Dow production sites. We support Dow's production plants by engineering innovative online analytical solutions for Dow's competitive advantage. Our team is composed of individuals with strong engineering fundamentals, deep technical knowledge of the technologies we use, and excellent project management skills.

As an Analyser Engineer, you will lead technical projects as the Analytical Lead, primarily at the Barry site but potentially across multiple functions and geographies. You will also collaborate with the local maintenance organization to deliver advanced troubleshooting and reliability initiatives.

Responsibilities

Participate in capital projects as the Analytical Lead: selecting and applying analytical technology and sample system design, in cooperation with other technical resources, to create value for global businesses.

Provide leadership and technical expertise for determining product composition and properties, problem prevention, and identifying, developing, and implementing Most Effective Technology (MET).

Offer expertise for high-level troubleshooting and repair of online analytical instrumentation in conjunction with the maintenance team.

Coach others on online analytical systems and technology.

Develop and update analyser maintenance procedures and PPM strategies.

Lead analyser reliability improvement initiatives in conjunction with maintenance.

Participate in Global Process Analytical SME groups where appropriate.

Develop and manage long-term obsolescence strategies (e.g., GC MGP).

Represent Dow in external technology networks and venues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, engineering, or manufacturing, and experience in manufacturing settings.

Over 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Your Skills

Experience with online analyzers (GCs, FTNIR, etc.).

Strong engineering fundamentals.

Deep technical knowledge of relevant technologies.

Excellent project management skills.

Advanced troubleshooting and reliability skills.
