The Best Connection are currently looking for CNC Operators/Machinists in the Accrington area ASAP!
Job Details 74 Hour Fortnight, meaning the operative will work 4 10.5-hour shifts in Week 1, then 3 10.5-hour shifts in week 2. One of these shifts will be for 11 hours to make up to 74. Starting rate (no machining experience): £12.92 With Machining experience £13.74 or £14.56 depending on experience. £23.08 flexibility allowance per week to allow for flexibility in your shifts. Shifts can be days, nights and potentially weekends with enhanced rates of more than double time for premium shifts- Call 01254 261 987 for more shift details Experienced Role Ideally skilled and proven machinist capable of working to Aerospace tolerances, however, willing to train people with little or no experience as long as you have worked on other machines prior to this role. Fully conversant with manufacturing documentation including procedures, work instructions and customer specifications Working knowledge of a variety of manufacturing methods and processes Time-served apprenticeship, certificate of craftsmanship and/or experience of aero structure products or equivalent experience Entry Level Role
An effective team worker, a logical thinker and a self-starter who drives towards development Little to no experience with CNC Machines, however any manufacturing or machine operating experience will be desireable. If you as an individual has the right aptitude and willingness to learn, full training will be provided. Position
Reporting to the Working Team Leader, the machinist will be manufacturing precision components compliant with drawing requirements including tolerances and specifications, carrying out self-verification of technical compliance with appropriate measuring equipment and techniques.
Responsibilities Select and load specified fixtures tooling and program to machine (for CNC machine measure tool and set tool compensations). Either for own use or for lower skilled grade colleagues. Achieve and maintain established process and takt times for jobs throughout batches or single piece flow scenarios On manufacture of the first off ,verify that all parameters conform to specification stamping / signing production cards In the case of detecting a non-conformance part recording and isolating the defects and informing the Team leader. Actively complying and encouraging all lean and continuous improvement activities Engaging in 6S and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) activities including removal of swarf, topping up of coolants, keeping machines and work areas clean and tidy Proactively seeking every opportunity for self-improvement by learning additional machine control systems, machining processes and component verification methodology. Carrying out any other related duties assigned as deemed necessary by the working team leader.
