Crynodeb
To co-ordinate and facilitate the educational activities of individual pre and post registration students, by working in partnership with the HEI to promote evidenced based learning in the development of midwifery practice, encompassing local and national service objectives. Work in partnership with the Trust and HEI leading on student placement mapping. Create practice based opportunities for learning; match practice based learning to coincide with theory taught in the classroom. To provide and assure a safe and effective clinical placement for midwifery students, child-branch student-nurses on maternity placement and work experience candidates. Provide clinical and professional advice ensuring optimal use of skills of all staff working within areas. Provide practice based continuing professional development for practice supervisors and practice assessors, including education and skills in teaching and assessing in clinical practice. To co-ordinate attendance at practice assessor courses for midwives ensuring ratio of assessors to students is maintained. To develop and maintain SSSA database. See JD for full details
