Summary

Responsible to the Registered Manager / Deputy Manager

To prepare and cook a balance, nutritious diet within a controlled hygienic environment.
To control systems of food allocation to minimise wastage.
Maintain a balanced diet and varied menus.
Liaise with the manager on devising menus.
To be aware of the service users needs and dietary preferences.
Ensure that all kitchen staff are trained within the requirements of current legislation.
Ensure that all kitchen staff clean the kitchen after use and at the end of each shift leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.
Deal with supplier to order all provisions and ensure they are of good quality.
Account and control all stock held on the premises, and complete stock checks.
Responsible for portion control and ensure that waste is kept to a minimum.
Responsible for supervising staff and ensuring that all training is up to date.
Complete staff rotas.
Complete documentation in a timely manner.
Actively contribute to the preparation and cooking of food and the cleaning of the kitchen area.
Complete staff supervisions and appraisals.
Adhere to confidentiality at all times.
