An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Asset Management Section based in the Climate & Energy Team.

North Lanarkshire Council declared a Climate Emergency in 2019 and is a signatory of the Edinburgh Declaration on post-2020 global biodiversity framework. Reporting to the Climate & Energy Manager you will work closely with team members and colleagues in other areas of the Council to enable and embed climate action through the development of the new Climate Plan.

Your work will be diverse covering mitigation, adaptation and sustainability, and you will have the ability to adapt as well as prioritise your workload. You must be motivated and have the ability to work to tight deadlines using your own initiative. Good communication skills are essential as you will engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will have responsibility for the line management of the Energy Management Co-ordinator and the LHEES & Network Officer, and therefore the successful applicant will have a good understanding of the wider climate agenda.

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline such as in climate change, sustainability, geography, environmental management or equivalent and have significant relevant experience, including strategy development and performance monitoring. You will have a good understanding of legislation relevant to this wide agenda.

Work pattern (Hybrid working):

35 hours per week - Monday to Thursday - 08:45 to 16:45 - Friday 08:45 to 16:15
