As an Education Fellow, you will be a member of the Northern Care Alliance Clinical Education Campus based at Salford Royal Hospital for a 12-month period from the beginning of August and based within the Diabetes and Endocrinology department at Salford Royal Hospital.

You will be able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and support the Undergraduate Team with the delivery of the Medical Education Curriculum whilst also clinically supporting the Diabetes and Endocrinology team. In return, you will develop your experience in education and teaching.

We are looking for somebody who has a particular interest in Medical Education and Diabetes and Endocrinology, and we will put funding towards a 1 year PG Cert in Medical Education.

The primary educational focus in your role will be to implement, deliver and contribute to ongoing development of the University of Manchester MB ChB programme for Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 Medical Students at the Northern Care Alliance. This will include working with Academic Year Leads, teaching of Medical Students in the clinical environment, teaching clinical examinations and supporting and assessing Undergraduate Practical Assessment Skills.

The post-holder will also support the leads with facilitating bedside teaching and Themed Case Discussions and Communication Skills.

The post-holder will support the Hospital Dean, Undergraduate Tutors and Undergraduate Education Head of Service in ensuring that teaching not only meets the requirements of the evolving University of Manchester curriculum, but offers students outstanding educational experiences, that enhance their workplace learning.

Clinical responsibilities will be equivalent to those of a trainee at the same stage of training, based on evidenced competencies and be the responsibility of the clinical lead in the chosen specialty.

To be eligible for consideration you must have full GMC registration with license to practice, have experience of working clinically within the NHS for at least 2 years and have completed the Foundation Training Programme. IF THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU THEN YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DISREGARDED.

Travel between sites will be required so a driving license is preferred but not essential.
