The Royal Marsden, together with our academic partner, the Institute of Cancer Research, is a world leading comprehensive cancer centre that makes an impact for cancer patients locally, nationally and globally.

An excitingopportunity has arisen for a challenging, impactful and visible senior leadership role, within Strategy & Transformation team. This role will work to the Director of Strategic Development & Partnerships and closely with the wider leadership team of the Trust to ensure development and delivery of a broad set of transformative work programmes aligned to our recently launched 5 year clinical strategy. This will include bringing together and working across a variety of teams within the Trust (clinical and non clinical) and at times externally (e.g. NHS, charity and industry partners)

The post holder will work jointly with the other Senior Transformation Lead to support the Director of Strategic Development & Partnerships to shape and implement the portfolio of Transformation programmes and projects related to the Trust’s Strategic priorities and manage the Transformation Team.

Each Senior Transformation Lead will have responsibility for a specific set of programmes and projects, and will manage the staff working on those programmes and projects, including Programme Managers, Project Managers and Project Support Officers. The post holders will be responsible for leading and developing the Transformation Team to ensure that the team provides best value to the Trust. They will also deputise for the Chief Operational Information Officer as necessary.

2.1.1 Lead the timely, efficient, and effective management and allocation of the Transformation Team resources to ensure the portfolio of prioritised projects are delivered and related operational, performance and financial targets are met.

2.1.2 Line manage designated staff within the Transformation Team.

2.1.3 Resolve day to day management issues ranging from basic administration to complex team-based situations.

2.1.4 Liaise with the Director of Strategic Development & Partnerships, Clinical Business Unit Managers and Divisional Directors across the Trust to prioritise resources across programmes and projects.

2.1.5 Liaise with Clinical Business Unit Managers and Divisional Directors across the Trust to ensure that service and patient requirements are fully taken into account in scoping, planning and delivering programmes and projects.
