About Us:
We are a welcoming and caring 35-bed care home in Guildford, dedicated to providing a warm and supportive environment for our residents. Our home boasts beautiful outdoor spaces, and we are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Worker to help maintain and enhance these areas for the enjoyment of our residents, visitors, and staff.

Role Overview:
As our Grounds Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the gardens, lawns, pathways, and outdoor areas of the care home. Your work will play a vital role in creating a peaceful and attractive environment that promotes well-being for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees to a high standard.
• Perform regular mowing, pruning, weeding, and planting.
• Ensure pathways and outdoor seating areas are clean, safe, and inviting.
• Carry out seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, snow removal, and gritting.
• Perform basic maintenance of gardening equipment and tools.
• Collaborate with the care home team to create opportunities for residents to engage with the gardens.
• Monitor the outdoor environment for any potential hazards and report as needed.

About You:

• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of horticulture, including plant care and pest control.
• Ability to operate gardening tools and machinery safely.
• Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage your time effectively.
• A friendly and approachable attitude, with a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces.
