PC/EPOS Field Service Engineer | Ideally located in Manchester - will be covering North West England | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (with flexibility) | 4-5 jobs per day | 35,000 miles per year | Up to £30K + Overtime

Our client is a nationwide IT support organisation established in 1988 working in partnership with manufacturers, software houses, and system integrators. They offer their clients a structured “break fix” service along with engineering resources for installations and rollouts.

They also provide support for network infrastructures including server build and support, data centre hosting and management.

Are you the right person for the job?

• A valid driving license is essential, and a preference for driving is required due to mileage estimates
• PC/EPOS skills are essential, though training will be provided
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for the role and view it as a valuable opportunity
• Show flexibility in terms of travel, working hours, and technical exposure
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills and willingness to follow procedures and structured schedules
• Basic PC knowledge and a logical, practical approach to problem-solving required
• Ability to work independently after initial training, including:

• Installing new PCs
• Re-loading MS operating software and performing PC rebuilds
• Repairing receipt printers to assembly level
• Repairing cash drawers, including replacing springs and solenoids
• Diagnosing and repairing laser printers to assembly level
• Diagnosing, repairing, or replacing barcode scanners
• Detecting and removing virus infections
• Investigating and solving problems independently


What will your role look like?

• Installing and setting up new PCs and EPOS systems
• Rebuilding PCs and reloading MS operating systems
• Diagnosing and repairing receipt printers and cash drawers
• Troubleshooting and repairing laser printers, barcode scanners, and other hardware
• Providing technical support on-site, often with limited supervision after initial training
• Working with customers to resolve issues and deliver excellent service
