The full time position of Purchasing Officer will soon become available including the following responsibilities.
• Monitor stock levels and prepare proposed purchase orders relating to our annual stocking program for Directors approval
• Perpetual inventory on stock in order to ensure accuracy of stock as our stock is connected live to our trade website
• Progress purchase orders and liaise on shipping & import requirements as necessary
• Receive in all stock receipts and applicable costings according to deliveries and handle any disputes arising from invoice to delivery directly with suppliers
• Liaise closely with our accounts department regarding part-payments, remaining balances due on order and stock discrepancies requiring credit
• Upload all new, maintain and tidy SKU codes annually
• Prepare annual costings and component break downs on new range launces & clearance launches as arising
• Manage and action a complete stock-take for a large inventory annually
• Follow up on stock-take reconciling anomalies/discrepancies to completion
• Run daily reports on assembly stock and generate internal works orders using min & max levels that fluctuate according to our seasonality
• Work closely with our assembly & sales departments in relation to stock and any special sales order requirements that can affect stock levels suddenly
• Manage all local consumable purchases for all departments including packaging materials, stationery and sanitory
Person Requirements:
• At least 2 years of experience as purchasing officer within a medium size business
• Competence with System Based Intelligent Inventory Management (we currently use Profit Plus)
• Excellent communication skills and adept and developing and maintaining strong inter departmental and external supplier working relationships
• Efficient assimilation of inventory reporting data to prepare proposed purchase orders
• An enquiring approach to anomalies and a strong desire to challenge or solve these
• A proactive approach to self management, as stock can take six months from order to arrival, requiring some forward thinking in relation to our seasonality
This role is the ideal opportunity for someone with the above skills to shape a single person purchasing department to their own signature. Supported with great software and within a friendly and reputable firm. Plenty of internal support is provided for this role throughout all departments.

CIPS Qualifications would be an advantage in the role.
