Description
The Principal Accountant - HfH & HCBS is a critical role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position is central to managing the financial aspects of Home for Hope (HfH) and Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), where you will collaborate closely with program managers, finance teams, and executive leadership to maintain accurate financial records and implement effective financial strategies. The Principal Accountant will play a key role in preparing, analyzing, and reporting financial statements while ensuring that all fiscal activities align with our organizational goals and governmental regulations. Candidates will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills, expert knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to lead teams in the preparation and management of budgets. Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial statements for HfH and HCBS operations.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to financial reporting.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that enhance financial controls and efficiency.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasting.
Collaborate with program managers to develop and monitor annual budgets for HfH and HCBS programs.
Lead audit processes and provide necessary information to auditors and regulatory agencies.
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, government regulations, and reporting standards.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
Hours Per Week: 36.00

End Time : 17:30
