What skills and experience we're looking for
The Role
Uniform: Provided by School
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Assistant Cook to work in our very busy school kitchen. This person will be able to work as part of a team within the school and help provide high quality fresh and nutritious meals to the pupils and staff.
The post will be working at Beaver Road Primary School across both the First School (M206SX) & Junior School (M20 2RN) sites.
The Successful Candidate will:
• Work well in a team
• Engage positively with staff and pupils
• Have good communication skills
• Show commitment to professional development
• Comply with company polices and regulations in respect of health and safety to ensure the highest standards of kitchen practice and hygiene
• Adapt to change and take on different tasks as and when required
• Have the ability to communicate well with young children
Main duties:
• Working closely with the Head Cook to ensure the children receive a nutritionally balanced meal every day
• Deputising for the Head Cook in periods of absence.
• Serving meals
• General kitchen and dining room duties
• Undertake moderate lifting duties i.e. food delivery’s/dining room furniture
• Assist in the preparation of tasty meals
• Washing up and cleaning to a high standard
Professional Conduct and Development:
• Participate in the school's appraisal and professional development programs.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, pupils, and other relevant staff.
• Uphold the school's ethos, policies, and practices.
• Maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality.
