his post offers an exciting opportunity to work within theaward winningAIR service (Adult Integrated Respiratory Service), based in East Berkshireas a Band5 developmentalRespiratory Physiotherapist. Full training is provided to progress to band 6 role subject to achieving competenciesOngoing support will be provided by the Respiratory MDT and two Band 7 Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapists


As an AIR Physiotherapist no one day will be the same. You can be running an ambulatory oxygen clinic in the morning and an outpatient clinic in the afternoon, the next day leading a Pulmonary rehabilitation class followed by providing training to carersregardingchest clearance in a patient’s home.


The AIR Physio team run Pulmonary Rehabilitation (face to face, at home and online), Ambulatory oxygen clinics, Outpatient clinics offering management for chest clearance, chroniccoughandbreathlessness management,breathing pattern retraining, exercise advice and domiciliary visits.

• The post holder willbe responsible forthe assessment of care needs, development,implementationand evaluation of care for people with respiratory conditions, in both the outpatient and domiciliary setting alongside the delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation across East Berkshire.
• The successful candidate will be supportedinthe runningPulmonary Rehabilitation assessments and classes; Ambulatory Oxygen Clinics; Domiciliary and Outpatient Clinics toassistpatients with Chest clearance; Cough management; Breathing Pattern Disorders and exercise advise.


• Close working within the MDT is essential, to optimise care for patients under the Early Supported Discharge and Admission Avoidance services. Our goal is to aid active management of these individuals, to help avoid admission where possible.

• The post holder will utilise clinical, communication and interpersonal skills toidentifythe needs of people with respiratory disease and deliver care that recognises social,culturaland spiritual differences.

• A background of basic, clinical Respiratory knowledge,skillsand experience, with our training and support, will enable the post holder to develop into a Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist, working independently within the MDT. The post holder will have a passion for Respiratory Physio and a want to help patients with Chronic lung disease improve theirHealth RelatedQuality of Life,mainly inthe community setting
