An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Central Category Planning Manager - Frozen. This role will see the successful candidate lead change by using customer, commercial and market insight to develop the category strategy for range, commercial growth, price, promotion, merchandising and customer communication. Leading and representing the category in future growth and new product development projects, setting the category up for sustainable growth long term, ensuring that they deliver a great proposition for our customers, community and planet.

You will be responsible for

  • Using category insight to define and execute a multi-channel category strategy (space, range, price, promos), creating a market leading customer proposition that drives sales and market share
  • Defining a clear multi-channel and cross format plan that maxes the mix and achieves category objectives
  • Standing over price and price health in line with agreed category plans
  • Defining the category trade plan to deliver a great offer for our customers in line with feature space principles
  • Delivering customer-facing activity across all channels (range reviews, promotions and events) to critical path
  • Managing image coverage online and over-see product data quality (taxonomy, search terms etc.)
  • Accountability for ensuring the range delivers against customer needs (Price, Serving, Tier, Need State) and operational requirements e.g. availability
  • Working across Supplier, Customer and Dunnhumby teams to deliver Customer activation in store and online.
  • Adhering to all Tesco policies, storage and handover protocols and successfully completing all my training so that I have zero GSCOP breaches.
  • Follow our Business Code of Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence
  • Ensuring all supplier agreements are recorded in writing, reporting GSCOP complaints to Legal within 48 hours of receipt, and leading a culture of compliance within my team

You will need

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Strong Influencing and communication skills
  • Experience of building cross-functional relationships across the business
  • Highly inquisitive with passion for the customer
  • Proven track record of making decisions on customer and market data
