As Deputy Director for People Services Development and Workforce Solutions, the post-holder will lead a dynamic team responsible for the delivery of transformation and improvement across the healthcare system in relation to the People Profession.

Key aspects of this role will be to:
• Provide senior leadership to the delivery of the Future of NHS HR and OD programme, including oversight of the programme office.
• Lead the design and delivery of the future Target Operating Model for People Services
• Deliver national actions in the Future of NHS HR and OD report related to the Leading Improvement, Change and Innovation theme
• Lead the People Professional Development function to ensure the people profession has the requisite skills and knowledge both now and for the future to meet the requirements for future people service delivery and the those within the Long Term Workforce Plan. To enable the People Profession to work at the highest level, being focused on the transformational aspects of their role within a structured career framework and an embedded succession and talent management programme for its senior leaders.
• Lead the development and roll out of workforce solutions working closely with colleagues across WT&E and the Transformation Directorate ensuring the needs of the business are met in their development
• Lead the development and implementation of new workforce solution from an NHSE perspective
• Work closely with Transformation Directorate to lead the delivery national actions in the Future of NHS HR and OD report related to Embedding Digitally Enabled Solutions Theme
• Work with colleagues within WT&E to deliver the Improving Working Lives Programme

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
