The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Gower College Swansea for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis, supporting students in their academic journey.
Part-time (25 - 30 hours per week)
Term-time (36 weeks per annum)
Fixed term until 31st August 2025
Based on 25 hours per week, 36 weeks per annum, the pro rata salary would be £13,329 per annum (£24,691 Full Time Equivalent)
Tycoch / Gorseinon Campus

Please note we are closed for Christmas break from 20th December until 6th January, and will therefore be unable to respond to any queries received during this time.
Key Responsibilities:
To provide one-to-one or small group support under lecturer direction as appropriate in the classroom setting.
To assist with the development of learners’ literacy and numeracy skills.
To assist with the pastoral care needs of learners and to direct learners to other college support mechanisms as necessary.
To provide learners with help in understanding oral and written instruction.
To assist with the co-ordination of learners’ work, record keeping and progress through liaison with lecturing and support staff at all levels within the College.
About you:
Maths and English GCSEs: A - C Grade or equivalent
Experience of working with young people in a similar job role
Knowledge and understanding of the needs of students with additional learning needs/learning difficulties
Confident, resilient, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
