The Scottish Government Agriculture and Rural Economy Directorate are looking for a Potato Crop Certification Officer to join their Growing Crop team. SASA’s Potato plots are world-renowned and are primarily used to train approximately 100 Plant Health inspectors in pathological and physiological disorders of potato prior to commencing official inspections
As a Certification Officer your primary role will be to assist the Certification Manager in the provision of Potato Inspectors training plots and a variety of other field work. This will include, after a period of training, trueness to type assessments on material submitted by Industry and from SASA’s Microplant Unit. In addition, there will be potato store management and other store related duties including the ordering of consumables to ensure the smooth day to day running of the branch.
