Hourly rate: £15.51 - £16.93 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time only - Start time 8.15am - Finish time Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 4.45pm. Thursday 5pm and Friday 4pm
Aurora Poppyfield School
We’re looking to recruit a HLTA with THRIVE /ELSA to join our team at Poppyfield School. You will deliver interventions around emotional literacy and mental wellbeing.
Our autistic students are aged between 11 – 16, they have associated behavioural and communication difficulties. Some pupils may have multiple learning difficulties.
Poppyfield is part of the Aurora group, they share their Principal with Redehall school, but all other staff are specific to each school.What’s in it for you?/ Why Should You Apply?

Pupil Welfare and Safeguarding
Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.
Provide meaningful feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships and attitudes.
Monitor pupils conduct and behaviour throughout the learning process and intervene to resolve highly complex, difficult or very challenging issues and to keep records of incidents, health, behaviour etc. as necessary.
Delivering interventionsPlan and deliver individualised programmes of support for children to develop their emotional literacy, including:Awareness of own and other people’s emotions
Development of an increased range of emotional vocabulary
Management of stress, grief, anxiety, anger and conflict
Development of social interaction and friendship skills
Promotion of a realistic self-concept and good self-esteem
Coping with significant life changes including loss and bereavement
Developing Resilience skills
Supporting the delivery of therapeutic provision identified within the schools universal and targeted offers.
Supporting Teaching and Learning
Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of Poppyfield when required. Skills and Qualifications
GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
ELSA/THRIVE qualification desirable, if not already got must be willing to achieve in first 2 years in post.
Level 5 qualification related to the subject area desirable
Mental health first aid training desirable
The Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification, or demonstrate equivalent skill level.Benefits and Additional Information
