As detailed in previous sections the role is an integral part of our team. It gives the opportunity to learn and develop as a medical educator but also an interest in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. Duties and Responsibilities Medical Education Aid the Post Graduate Education lead in overseeing education for all grades of medical practitioners in the department Contribute to the development and delivery of the educational programmes within the Emergency Department. This will include the Adult or Paediatric educational content of the East Midlands Healthcare Workforce Deanery VLE to facilitate blended Develop and enhance the Departmental Simulation programme Maintain and develop the departmental FOAMed content for org.uk and contributing to RCEM Learning where able Support the facilitation of WBPA (dedicated shop floor teaching sessions and CBD clinics) Work within the Emergency Department Educational Team who will be responsible to the Medical Director and Associate Medical Director for Medical Education Link with the UHL Educational strategy focussing on quality and governance Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education Understand the core principles and issues in Medical Education The principles of learning Teaching and Learning in the clinical setting Curriculum Design, implementation and monitoring Assessing the learner Clinical duties and responsibilities: Whilst on duty the appointee will be clinically and professionally responsible for their patients. It will also be their duty to: keep patients (and/or their carers if appropriate) informed about their condition; involve patients (and/or their carers if appropriate) in decision making about their treatment; maintain professional standards and obligations as set out from time to time by the General Medical Council (GMC) and comply in particular with the GMCs guidance on Good Medical Practice as amended or substituted from time to time; carry out any work related to and reasonably incidental to the duties set out in their Job Plan e.g. the keeping of records and the provision of reports, the proper delegation of tasks, maintaining skills and knowledge.
