Your role:

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in supporting Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service’s (GMFRS) mission? This role offers the opportunity to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, ensure the delivery of strategic objectives, and provide leadership to the PA and Organisational Business Support teams. You’ll be instrumental in aligning GMFRS’s corporate support strategies with the Annual Delivery Plan and the Fire Plan, ensuring the organisation runs smoothly while promoting a strong culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. If you're ready to make a real difference in the public sector, this is the role for you!

About you:
We’re looking for a driven, adaptable, and collaborative leader who brings experience in leadership, finance and project management, ideally within the public sector. You'll have strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse teams, stakeholders, and external partners. You should be a proactive problem-solver who thrives on improving processes, enhancing service delivery, and championing inclusivity and accessibility. Your commitment to high professional standards and GMFRS’s values will make you an asset to our team. If you're ready to lead, inspire, and innovate, we want to hear from you.

Hybrid working

This role is part of GMCA’s hybrid working scheme. As part of our commitment to ‘Build Back Fairer’ in Greater Manchester following the Covid-19 pandemic, we have evolved our management methods by trusting and empowering staff to deliver their work in the best way that suits the business and their individual needs and supports health and wellbeing. Our hybrid working policy sets out a flexible approach, combining attendance at our [Manchester city centre office / Fire and Rescue service HQ in Swinton / other location] with remote working, typically from home; the location of work is primarily dictated by the needs of the business: ‘Do what is right for you and the business on that day’. If appointed to the role you will work with your manager to agree and regularly review the best working pattern for you, your team and your work.
