We are inviting applications for this unique and exciting opportunity in Urology nursing.

If successful the candidate will join the Urology Stones/Endo-luminal/Endo-urology service at University College London Hospitals at Westmoreland Street. In this role you will work as a Clinical Nurse Practitioner. You will be part of the Benign Urology CNS and CNP community, forging links with Urology Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Specialists across the network in North Central London and across the UK. You will work principally with the Urology medical team, to fully deliver a holistic service for our patients. This is an autonomous nursing role, and holds exciting potential for development and expansion.

The post holder will;

• Work part time.
• Co-ordinate the daily management of the Endo- Urology unit as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Be a point of contact for clinical teams caring for patients demonstrating general urinary complaints related to urinary stones.
• Provide advice and support to the clinical teams in Urology and the wider Trust network.
• Conduct high quality nurse-led assessments for our adult patients.
• Liaise with system-wide partners on specific patient issues, including referrals into community teams
• Work collaboratively with patients and carers, alongside the MDT in the promotion of quality care
• Take a lead in education, training and documentation about this specialty area
• Lead an outpatient nursing service, undertaking and interpreting basic diagnostic tests with the potential to develop autonomous advanced clinical skills (training will be given should the right candidate not have this skill set currently).
• Run independent nurse – led clinics
• Engage with diagnostics and treatment services, such as Lithotripsy to support this service.
• Triage patients in the community and provide continuous outreach support, converting to in patient based on clinic need. This will require judgement and reasoning, and an excellent safety critical skill set.
• Work at different sites as the job dictates.
