Dalkia UK are looking for 2 part time Catering Assistant to join our busy and friendly school team based in , Irlam Manchester,M44 5ZR . You will be Responsible for the basic preparation of food and beverages, simple cooking, transporting and serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties. This is a part time position 2 x 10 hour post term time only

Hours of work

10 per week – 2 hours a day ( 12:30pm start – 2:30pm finish )

Term time Only

Responsibilities

Prepare the dining and service areas to an appropriate standard.
Serve food and beverages at the specified times and in appropriate quantities.
Assist in the preparation of food when required.
Weighing of products in preparation for the next day and being proactive in preparing food for the next day.
Assist with the moving and setting up of the dining furniture.
Ensure that tables, chairs, trolleys and floors are kept clean and tidy at all times.
Clean all areas of the servery, salad bar, beverage machines and preparation areas in accordance with appropriate cleaning schedules.
Assist with the washing up of cutlery, crockery, trays and light equipment.
Operate the serving tills in accordance with managements instructions.
Cashier duties in addition to collect till register and to maintain the tills in clean condition and ensure it is returned to storage.
Clean the kitchen and dining room as required.
Comply with the Health and Safety at work act.
To be trained in correct use of all equipment.
Take regular temperature of food and record on appropriate paperwork.
Catering assistants must attend the following mandatory courses: · Food Allergy Awareness (delivered internally or externally)
Requirements:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation.
COSHH Training.
Ability to work on his/her own
Well-organised and capable of prioritising own workload.
Flexible approach to working as part of a team.
Previous experience of working in a catering environment.
Knowledge of good hygiene practices.
Well-presented.
