House of Light is a not-for-profit organisation specialising in perinatal mental health. We deliver NHS Talking Therapy at Step 3 in Hull and East Yorkshire and are a busy, well-established service. House of Light has provided support to parents since 2007 and currently offers group, telephone, and email support as well as the one-to-one therapy.
Due to significant and projected growth an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the existing clinical team. We are seeking a highly motivated Trainee PCE-CFD Therapist to work full time (4/5 days per week).
The course is 5 days on site training in York across two weeks, followed by a period of supervised clinical work. You will have 12 months to complete the course which includes passing 4 tapes with a maximum submission of 6 tapes.
Essential Criteria:
You must:
• have a diploma or higher in humanistic or person-centred counselling or psychotherapy.
• have at least 2 years post-qualifying experience in providing brief counselling to clients with common mental health problems, particularly, depression.
• be able to deliver face to face therapy in Kingston upon Hull.
• be accredited or have submitted accreditation to the relevant governing body.
• be able to carry out mental health assessments and risk assessments.
• hold evidence of appropriate regular clinical supervision.
• have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain clear professional boundaries.
• have good administrative skills.
• have proven ability to ensure safeguarding is adhered to.
Desirable Criteria:
You must have:
• experience in working with a variety of different presentations as your clients will not be solely perinatal. However, understanding perinatal mental health issues is desirable (training will be provided).
• experience of working in a solution focused way.
• flexibility of working hours.
If you want to be part of a passionate and welcoming team who offer a supportive working environment, then this role is ideal. We offer competitive salary (NHS comparable), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, training and development opportunities, pension contributions.
This role will be subject to receiving satisfactory references, enhanced disclosure and barring service checks and a six-month probationary period.
Please send CV and covering letter outlining suitability to caroline@houseoflight.org.uk.
House of Light reserves the right to withdraw the job advertisement early should the maximum number of applicants be received.
