Summary
Job Overview
We’re looking for a talented Python Developer to join our small dev team to work on an evergreen product. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with FastAPI, intermediate SQL knowledge, and a firm grasp of React. We embrace Extreme Programming (XP) principles, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and pair programming. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in a fully remote team.
We meet in London each quarter, so candidates must be UK-based and eligible to work without a visa.
Salary
£35,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain, and scale web applications using FastAPI, Django, Postgres, and Gunicorn.
* Optimise and manage server environments, primarily on Ubuntu.
* Collaborate with team members through pair programming to solve challenging problems.
* Drive quality and reliability by adhering to Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
* Debug and troubleshoot technical issues within existing applications and services.
* Contribute to improving the development pipeline, deployment processes, and system architecture.
Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Python developer, with a portfolio of projects showcasing your expertise.
* Strong commitment to writing clean and testable code.
* Experience with team-based collaboration.
* Proficiency in Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
* Strong communication skills and working effectively in a fully remote team.
Nice to Have
* Understanding of containerisation and orchestration tools.
* Knowledge of multipass and cloud-init systems.
* Familiarity with Golang (basic knowledge or contributions to past projects).
* Experience with PyTorch.
