Role overview
Are you ready to shape the future of some of Alamys key platforms?
About us.
Alamy is an open platform with the world’s most inclusive content collection. Founded in 1999, Alamy was built on a vision to
change the world of picture buying. Today, content creators upload over 150,000 new images a day from every country in the world
and our collection features creative and editorial photos, vectors, 360-degree images and videos from individual photographers,
picture agencies and archives.
With three global sales hubs, Alamy serves a global customer base covering the news, publishing, advertising, design, corporate
and broadcast sectors
Inclusion.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where your unique skills, experiences, and perspectives are valued. We
understand the importance of work-life balance and actively support agile working. In this role we are open to exploring hybrid
and remote provided you are willing to attend the Paddington office if required.
If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, please reach out to our recruitment team—we’re here to support you
every step of the way.
About the role.
The Design team at Alamy plays a pivotal role in shaping the experience for our contributors and customers. Collaborating closely
with multi-disciplinary squads, the team uses cutting-edge UX, UI, and Service Design methods to foster a culture of
experimentation, delivering impactful and delightful user experiences while driving Alamy’s business objectives.
This fixed-term role, offered as a 12-month parental cover, places you at the forefront of understanding user needs through
thorough research and analysis, translating insights into actionable design strategies that align with business goals. You will
lead the development of prototypes, oversee user testing, and ensure feedback is effectively incorporated into design iterations.
Your expertise in creating visually compelling and user-friendly interfaces will be critical in maintaining consistency across
layouts, typography, colour schemes, and interaction flows.
A core responsibility will involve the development and enforcement of robust design systems, including style guides and UI
components, ensuring uniformity and efficiency across products. You will also facilitate collaboration across stakeholders—product
managers, engineers, and team members—while mentoring and fostering a culture of innovation and growth within the team.
Project leadership is a key element of the role, requiring oversight from conception to delivery, resource management, and
ensuring alignment with timelines and objectives. You'll champion accessibility and inclusivity in all design efforts, advocating
for standards that consider diverse user needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a senior role in a dynamic team and make a meaningful impact during this 12-month
fixed-term assignment.
