Grounds Maintenance Charge Hand

Do you like working in the great outdoors? Do you have a passion for Gardening? Or are you looking for a new role? If so, we have a great opportunity for you. We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Charge Hand (also known as a Landscape Technician Charge Hand) to be responsible for the maintenance of communal grounds including grass cutting, trimming hedges and weeding flower beds.

A company van and tools will be provided which you will be responsible for and ensure they are kept in good working condition. So, if you are looking for a new challenge then this may be the role for you.

The role of Grounds Maintenance Charge Hand will include:

- Day to day will include
- mowing, strimming, hedge cutting, litter picking and carrying out machine checks, cleaning of machines, dynamic risk assessments, taking machines in for repair, loading and unloading vans
- Use equipment and materials in a safe manner as instructed and in accordance with risk assessment and the manufacturer’s guidance
- Carry out all hazardous tasks such as spraying, in accordance with supplier guidelines ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks
- Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations


Skills and experiences:

- A pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent
- NVQ3 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline is desirable
- Recent experience of working within a similar role where operating gardening machinery is essential
- Record keeping and good communication skills
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
