Crynodeb

Markfield is a dynamic charity in Haringey with a community centre and adventure playground. We run play sessions and social clubs for disabled children and adults and their families. We are seeking more part-time workers to join our friendly and supportive team of sessional staff.

We are seeking to recruit a committed and energetic Sessional Worker to work on our after school and evening clubs with children, young people and adults, who have learning and physical disabilities and or autism.

Experience: We welcome applications from those who have experience in play work or youth work, working with disabled children and or adults. Markfield can develop your skills in working with a range of age groups. We also particularly welcome people with creative skills in arts, music, dance, drama.

As a Sessional Worker you will be involved in the planning and delivery of a variety of sessions and activities for disabled children and young people at the Markfield community centre. This includes listening to service users’ ideas to design services around their needs, choices and aspirations. You will support and involve service users in activities which are playful, stimulating and enjoyable, while promoting their well being and encouraging them to take an active role in their community.

Hours and working pattern:

We are currently able to offer part-time work for up to 16 hours a week during term-times (30-36 weeks a year) at our children and young people’s after-school clubs on Tuesdays to Fridays as well as Friday evenings at our Adult Club.

In addition to the term-time sessions, there is also the opportunity to work on our holiday playschemes in the school holidays.
