My client is a specialist consultancy providing acoustics & air quality services. They are committed to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions for their clients across various sectors, including aviation, construction, environmental, and building acoustics.

Your new role

They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated aviation specialist to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, supporting, and delivering balanced, collaborative, and sustainable airport noise management strategies. Your work will go beyond merely reducing noise levels, aiming to enhance the overall acoustic environment of airport operations.
They are currently working with large airports in the south-east and Ireland, to deliver expansion plans, airspace change projects, noise insulation schemes and mitigation plans and the resultant research around this.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive noise assessments and impact studies for airport projects.
  • Develop and implement noise mitigation strategies and management plans.
  • Collaborate with airport authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with noise regulations and standards.
  • Utilise advanced acoustic modelling software to predict and analyse noise levels.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on noise control measures and best practices.
  • Engage in community outreach and public consultations to address noise-related concerns.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in aviation acoustics and noise management.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Diploma, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Membership with the IOA (Institute of Acoustics)
  • Proven experience in the aviation sector.
  • Strong knowledge of noise regulations and standards applicable to the aviation industry.
  • Proficiency in acoustic modelling software (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPLAN).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience managing a team is desirable.
  • Experience working on EIA/DCO projects for airports is desirable
