Demonstrate skill and professional knowledge acquired through post registration academic, clinical development. Work as an excellent role model for professional practice. Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical, and legal codes of the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Trusts protocols and guidelines. Be accountable for own practice and for the delegation of care he / she gives to more junior colleagues, support workers and students. Demonstrate ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate woman-centred care & guide more junior staff to deliver effective, holistic care. Display sound analytical and critical thinking ability in complex and rapidly changing situations. In collaboration with the consultant midwife & healthy lifestyle specialist midwife help to refresh the current healthy lifestyle clinic that is situated within the north of the county. Reviewing the model of care & strengthening to ensure an equitable provision is available across the county Work in close collaboration with the OUH here for health & dietetics department to ensure the healthy lifestyle behaviour advice is aligned Will support any developments and roll out of evidence-based hospital guidelines/ pathways and agreed standards relating to public health that doesnt sit under the other public health specialist roles Support the coordination of bariatric womens care who are accessing maternity services ensuring all members of the MDT are involved & any special measures such as bariatric beds are sourced ahead of the womens estimated due date Ensure that the environment for women, families and staff are safe and conducive to the delivery of a high-quality standard of care that remains flexible and responsive to individual needs, incorporating ethnic and/or cultural diversity. Liaises with and communicates sensitive complex issues with the multidisciplinary team on behalf of the women, family, and staff; ensuring that views are represented, and decisions are effectively communicated. Provides knowledge, expertise and advice surrounding the sensitive nature of raised BMI Monitor, audit and advise on the management of care for women with a raised BMI in collaboration with obstetric / wider colleagues Support the specialist healthy lifestyle midwife in making individualised plans for women re: raised BMI & place of birth - with support from consultant midwives The post holder will liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team and facilitate a collaborative approach to women, and family's care to promote the close integration of community and hospital-based care. The post holder will develop close working relationships with all members of the MDT as well as ensuring effective relationships with service Work with the PDM team & support the facilitation of the annual MECC training ensuring that training encapsulates the wider PH agenda
