Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the imaging department as the Deputy PACS Manager. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated radiographer to become part of our friendly and hardworking imaging team. You should have essential IT skills and experience in PACS systems, RIS systems and other clinical systems. The successful candidate will have a clinical background, good communication and teaching skills. The role will include day-to-day management of the PACS system including monitoring performance, first line support for the department and being a key trainer for staff within and outside of Imaging. The post holder is expected to work out of hours as part of the rotational on call system

• The post holder will work as a PACS/RIS Support Officer in the Radiology department, providing technical and administrative support to radiology’s IT systems as well as assisting the PACS/RIS Project Lead with problem solving and database maintenance of the current PACS/RIS.
• The post holder will be required to help maintain and support existing information systems within Radiology and contribute to the implementation of new systems, upgrades and modifications to the PACS, RIS and VNA
• The post holder will assist with testing of new PACS and RIS and new systems or ways of working, which may implemented to improve data throughput such as DART Order Comms, RadAlert, TeraRecon, Medica Teleradiology, etc.

Manage the housekeeping of PACS/RIS data with the radiologists/radiographers in a timely fashion. Administer the system on a daily basis to ensure correct and efficient operation. The post holder will be involved in auditing, fault reporting, troubleshooting and maintenance of the current PACS and RIS databases. Act as the point of contact for current PACS/RIS equipment suppliers. Support the training of end users to ensure a consistent standard of working practices across
all Trust sites. Assist with to maintain operational knowledge of external service systems (IEP, Medica, etc.) as well as escalating backlogs related to these systems. Comply with the Epsom and St Helier Hospital NHS Trust policies, procedures, data quality policy and rules of confidentiality of information. To undertake any other duties which may be reasonably regarded as within the nature of the duties, responsibilities and grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that appropriate training is given.
Work flexibly in order to meet the changing needs of the Imaging service e.g. extended days, attending service disruption issues during out of hours.
