Summary
Blue chip diagnostic company with global reputation for the design, manufacture and marketing of the most innovative in vitro diagnostic systems and biomedical technology for the progress of healthcare and medical science are looking to recruit a Commercial Product Manager to work within the newly formed Commercial Team to develop strong revenue growth within the UK Clinical and Pharma / Biotech markets globally. This is a hybrid role combining commercial and technical skills to deliver on growth for the business across a wide variety of disciplines.
The formation of the Commercial Team is focussed on delivery of Helena Group’s commercial goals and planned growth trajectory. This is an exciting time with the introduction of new and innovative products and the continued development of novel solutions in its markets. The Commercial Team has been formed to encompass the Helena Biosciences brand for Diagnostic Electrophoresis and Haemostasis instruments, software and reagents alongside controls for diagnostic assays, the PrinCE brand of instruments and software solutions to address the needs of Pharma, Biotech and research. Additional lines are planned to increase market reach in the coming years. The goal of this team is to deliver sales revenue growth, foster customer collaborations and relationships to escalate the commercial growth of the company. The commercial team sells, promotes, markets and develops business for the Helena group in all areas with strong growth plans in the coming years. Working closely with the technical team, the commercial team owns pre-sales activities and horizon scanning for new opportunities to develop products and address the changing needs of customers in the field.
COMMERCIAL PRODUCT MANAGER
The role will involve working in a small team on a variety of tasks supporting the development of solutions that meet customer requirements across a broad range of applications, with a high degree of problem solving ability and lateral thinking required to deliver to customer expectations and develop new solutions alongside existing solutions for customers. The main goal of this role is to support commercial success for the business through technical knowledge and understanding of customer needs. It is expected that this role will also involve some commercial skill development.
Candidate Key Skills:
Relevant analytical or clinical laboratory experience (capillary electrophoresis preferred)
Experience in customer facing role
Educated to post graduate level in life sciences or analytical chemistry or relevant experience
Creative and intellectually curious scientist capable of engaging with complex projects whilst being commercially aware and focused on delivery of strong sales revenue
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Experience of Capillary Electrophoresis desirable but not required
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks simultaneously
Highly customer focused
Strong problem solving skills
Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills to understand complex customer projects
Can do approach with flexibility to deliver to customer expectations
Desire to develop career down a commercially focused track
Ability to travel extensively within the UK and potentially globally
This vacancy is permanent, full time Monday to Friday (daytime hours) and field based
Salary: Competitive Remuneration Package (negotiable).
