We have a new opportunity for a Glazier to join a local council to deliver a high quality responsive repairs service in customers homes across the London Borough of Hounslow.
Responsibilities:
- Measuring, installing, and repairing glass in domestic properties, ensuring the correct and appropriate glass for the job is used, as well as removing old and broken panes, and ensuring glass is sealed to be watertight.
- Setting glass doors into frames and bolting metal hinges, locks, and handles and other hardware to attach doors to frames and walls using a spirit level.
- Installing pre-assembled wood or metal frameworks for doors and windows before glass panel installation using hand tools
- Cutting, assembling, measuring or installing metal frames and enclosures for glass panels in various areas and structures, including bathtubs, showers, display cases, solarium's, and skylights.
- Cutting and removing old and broken glass before installing replacement glass
- Packing loose areas between glass panels and moulding or frames with glazing compound, and trimming excess materials using a glazing knife.
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence (manual)
- GQA Level 2 or 3 NVQ Certificate in Glazing (desirable)
