Role Purpose

This post will be based within the Children and Families Duty Team in Langlee, Galashiels.

The team provides administration support for the Social Work staff within the Children & Families Duty Team and work closely with partner agencies such as Education, Police and Health.
As a Modern Apprentice within the Business Support Team your main duties will include:
• Telephone answering
• Letter typing and distribution
• Minute taking and distribution
• Processing Police Concern Forms
• Processing Inter-Agency referrals
• Processing data entry tasks as directed by the Senior Social Worker or Team Leader
• Use of SBC applications such as Mosaic, Business World, Intranet, One Drive and Microsoft packages
• Being first point of telephone/email contact to the public and Professionals
• Monitoring of Team mailboxes
• Completing Mosaic Incoming Tasks

Essential

In accordance with Scottish Borders Councils priorities, you will need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the Apprenticeship) to qualify for this position.

Minimum of 3 National 5 grades
