Crynodeb
Due to continued growth our client a world leader in the design, test, certification & manufacture of bespoke industrial rotating equipment seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive experience of SolidWorks.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player, and a confident self-starter with drive to deliver change. They will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Main responsibilities will include:
• Designing and developing ***complex rotating assemblies*** for manufacture.
• Re-engineering existing products.
• Preparing detailed drawings and manufacturing instructions for issue to works.
• Overseeing the entire manufacturing process of each job to ensure project deadlines are met
• Develop and design new products in line with the technical specifications.
• Produce product/component designs, from concept through to manufacturing readiness, using a high end 3D CAD package.
• Produce supporting detail drawings and bills of materials for integration into product configuration and ERP software tools.
• Produce technical documentation in accordance with the New Product Introduction Ability to produce documentation and deliverable reports which are correct in both detail and scope.
• Ensure that Company quality procedures are adhered to.
Person Specification/Profile
• HNC/Degree in an Engineering Discipline, relevant QA Qualification or equivalent
• Knowledge and awareness of engineering procedures
• Good knowledge of engineering tools (i.e. SolidWorks)
• Good problem solving skills
• Strong communication, negotiation and diplomacy skills
• Be able to produce accurate documentation
• High level analytical abilities
• Excellent persuasion and presentation skills
• Pro-active self-starter, capable of working on own initiative
• Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work at all levels of the organisation
• Awareness of manufacturing processes and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Strong judgment & prioritisation skills
• Employs a methodical and structured approach to tasks
