Overview:
A chef in an Italian pizzeria and restaurant is responsible for overseeing and managing the kitchen operations, ensuring the quality and consistency of food, and leading the culinary team. Responsibilities:
• Preparing and cooking a variety of Italian dishes, including pizza, pasta, sauces, salads, appetizers, desserts, and traditional recipes such as Risotto, Carbonara, and Tiramisu;
• Incorporating seasonal and fresh ingredients to maintain high standards of Italian cuisine;
• Ensuring that food is cooked to the correct temperature and time.
• Managing food inventory and ensuring the availability of fresh, high-quality ingredients.
• Enforcing cleanliness and hygiene standards in compliance with health and safety regulations;
• Delegating tasks effectively among kitchen personnel;
• Assisting the Head chef in the preparation of specialty dishes;
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including washing dishes, cleaning work surfaces, and sanitizing equipment;
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and timely food service;
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in Italian cuisine, is preferred but not essential.
• Passion for food and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
