Job title: Senior Practitioner (Falkirk Core and Cluster)

Location: Falkirk Core and Cluster Service

Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (flexibility required)

Are you passionate about helping people live better lives? Do you want to work for a charity that values your health and well-being? Do you want to be part of a trauma-informed team with creative and flexible ways of working?

At LinkLiving, our values—Empathy, Respect, Integrity, and Caring—shape everything we do. LinkLiving is a Scottish charity supporting people to overcome challenges like trauma, mental health issues, poverty, and inequality. We help individuals build on their strengths and aspirations through personal development, employability programs, supported accommodation, care at home, housing support, befriending, and social cafes.

The Service
The Falkirk Core & Cluster project supports young people aged 16-21 who have experienced care or arrived in Falkirk through the National Transfer Scheme. It helps them develop skills for independent living and access opportunities in education, training, and employment. The project includes ten independent tenancies around a central hub/training flat, where a small team delivers tailored support.

The Job
As Senior Practitioner, you will use your skills and experience to support care-experienced young people, coordinating complex support arrangements and providing leadership within the service. You will guide less experienced colleagues through mentoring, work collaboratively with other agencies, and build empowering relationships with service users. Responsibilities include carrying out assessments, offering emotional and practical support, and helping young people develop independent living skills. Advocating for service users and ensuring their rights are upheld is key.

About You
You should have a secondary education, including English and Maths, and an SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 6, or be willing to work towards further qualifications, including a supervisory/management qualification. You’ll have extensive experience in social care, housing support, and working with care-experienced young people. Knowledge of housing issues, welfare rights, and relevant legislation is essential.

You will bring a non-judgmental attitude, excellent relationship-building skills, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. You should be proficient in using technology to manage records and demonstrate sensitivity to the emotional and social needs of others.

Benefits
LinkLiving offers:

Competitive salary with annual reviews and potential performance-related increases
35 days’ annual leave (including public holidays), with additional days after three years’ service
Enhanced sick and family-friendly pay
Access to SVQ qualifications and learning opportunities
Funded Disclosure Scotland and SSSC memberships
Pension scheme with employer contributions
Electric vehicle leasing, life assurance, healthcare cash plan, savings schemes, and more
Other Information
Successful candidates must register with the SSSC within three months of starting. This role requires PVG Scheme registration, funded by Link.

Closing Date: 23:59, Sunday 08 December 2024
Interview Date: Wednesday 18 December 2024, Link Academy, Falkirk
