Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Yard Operative to join our team based in Leighton Buzzard. This role involves working in a busy yard environment, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and move materials using appropriate equipment.
Yard Maintenance: Maintain the yard’s cleanliness and organization to ensure a safe working environment.
Stock Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels, assisting with stock checks and reporting shortages.
Team Support: Work collaboratively with other team members to meet operational targets.
Equipment Operation: Operate machinery such as forklifts (if licensed) or other tools as needed.
Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Customer Interaction: Assist customers with inquiries and loading/unloading materials when necessary.
Skills and Experience Required:
Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or similar environment (preferred but not essential).
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
Good physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling and outdoor work.
Excellent team-working and communication skills.
